George Homans in 1958, created the social exchange theory. There are basically two main fundamental properties – the one is self-interest and the other is interdependence. Conflict theory is quite impressive and influential, no doubt. But it does not account for all forms of social change. It only gives us a means of analyzing some of the most significant changes in history and present-day society. Still it is not comprehensive theory of social change.
